Overview

The Analytical Division is the core division associated with all the activities of the institute. The laboratory is fully equipped with the state of the art analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, GC/MS-MS and Semi-Preparative HPLC for undertaking the analysis of pesticides, their formulations and residues in various matrices. In December, 2008, the Division has been granted accreditation as per ISO/IEC–17025 (2005) for the testing of pesticide and their formulations and CWC related chemicals. The scope was increased in 2012 for the testing of pesticide residues in food matrices. The accreditation has been renewed in the entire scope and is valid until April 2019. This division also participates in the international Proficiency Tests conducted by the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Convention and received the “Designation Status” in 2011 for undertaking the analysis of CWC related chemicals.

The division offers services to agrochemical industries and others based in India and abroad relating to Pesticide analysis, Residue analysis in food and agricultural products as well as environmental matrices like soil and water. In addition to providing analytical services, the Division undertakes projects on Pesticide Residue data generation, Field trials and Shelf life studies for Indian Agrochemical Industries for product registration to Central Insecticide Board & Registration committee (CIB & RC). The Division also undertakes the projects on Laboratory simulation studies to evaluate degradation / dissipation behaviour of pesticides in various types of soil and water.
